During our July DOXLON we had three awesome speakers talking about varied topics. Jeremie Vallee from Babylon Health, discussed his journey towards orchestration with a Minimum Viable Docker approach. We also had Federico Fregosi, who talked about Kubernetes and microservices at Curve while diving into the future of the DevOps model. Finally we heard from Jonas Chevalier, who discussed how you can use nix to replace and improve upon Docker for packaging microservices.
DevOps Exchange (DOXLON) Posts
This month's DOXLON had another great lineup for those interested in Container Orchestration and Microservices, including a headline talk all the way from the US via Video link from the legendary Kelsey Hightower, talking about Istio, a powerful service mesh framework for Kubernetes and Microservices. In addition we had great talks from James Rasell talking about the container solution they built at Elsevier using Nomad, and Graem Forbes at Infitity Works who walked us through productionising a new application on Docker on a very tight deadline.
As usual, another great meetup, followed by the usual beers and pizza and pub down the road! Our next meetup will be on July 27th, see you there!
This month, we at Outlyer will be doing their first talk since our rebrand, on Docker monitoring solutions and how the container monitoring solution was built at Outlyer.
We are also hearing from our hosts Sainsbury’s, and how they have been using CodeBuild with Ansible and CloudFormation for their complex builds.
You’ll also get to hear how Flypay have been using Alexa (Amazon Echo) to deploy to Kubernetes! After setting up a powerful continuous deployment pipeline that allows you to deploy your products to Kubernetes clusters just using your voice.
This past March, we held our DevOps Exchange London at Marks & Spencer HQ on March 17th. As usual, we had an eventful evening with good chats, networking, pizza and drinks to commemorate St. Patrick's Day. Join DevOps Exchange London Meetup to stay tuned for all future events: DOXLON Meetup.
To kick off 2016 we held our January meetup at Sainsbury's Tech Hub in Holborn, with one of our largest attendances yet! As usual, 3 great talks followed by beer and pizza networking. This month we held our meetup at the one of our favourite venues, DigitasLBI. As usual, 3 great speakers followed by beer and pizza afterwards.
This month we held our meetup at the huge IPExpo show in Excel London, who were kind enough to share their keynote stage to host all our attendees. Unfortunately our usual video crew couldn't make it this month meaning we ended up using their recording crew, and somewhere along the lines one of the talks from Channel 4 was lost. Apologies to Channel 4 and our attendees who won't be able to see the great talk they did this month, we've put the slides below for reference.
Last month we did our 4th general DevOps meetup which we held at DigitasLBi's great offices in London. 3 more great speakers and a great attendee turnout, it was great to see lots of regulars, and also many new faces for beers and pizza afterwards.
This month we did our 3rd general DevOps meetup which we held at ASOS's great offices in London. 3 more great speakers and a great attendee turnout, it was great to see lots of regulars, and also many new faces for beers and pizza afterwards.
This month we did our 2nd general DevOps meetup at Cloud World Forum in Olympia. Despite being the other side of London from our usual locations we had a great turnout and some really good speakers all talking about Cloud and Docker/Containers.
